EVANGELIST CHUCK COFTY'S
2004 Meeting Reports with Pictures
(Posted 12/12/04) Four men were saved Friday evening at the wild game supper at Cornerstone Independent Baptist Church. This was a blessed time as several of these men had been visited by Pastor Cutshaw and invited to come. One of the men (Danny) walked the isle this morning wanting to let everyone know that he had been saved. Thank God for his mercy and his ability to still save the souls of sinful men and women. Under his leadership the church has grown and become a vibrant entity in the community for God. It's many members are comprised not only of folks from the area but also many members who represent the various branches of the military assigned in the area. Yesterday (11/28), we saluted America and her military, her fire fighters, her police, her EMT personnel and her elected officials (two senators present) but most importantly we saluted those who have paid the supreme sacrifice -- those who have lost loved one's in America's efforts to maintain her freedom, ours as well as others. We saluted a young woman in the audience who had just lost her fiancée, a young Marine Corporal, in Fulujah. This young woman had received ten emails the day that he was killed, emails that spoke of their marriage plans, their future together and of course words of love and endearment. Both of these folks are saved and both members of the church. He, of course, is in heaven and has now seen his dear Lord - she mourns his death and abrupt ending of her life's plans. Needless to say this was a poignant time with buckets of tears as pastor called her to the front and awarded her a new bible and plaque commemorating this day. Oh what a time we had in the message for the day, part of which was the assurance that she would one day see him again. Thank God for his grace and joy in horrific times like these. Her joy was not in what she was, nor what she had but to whom she belonged. Be sure to pray for our troops in harms way. God bless and warm regards PS. I am a dinosaur now but in the memory of my mind I remember the harshness of combat, the reality of death, it's sights and smells and every day wish that I were young again so that I might be thrown back into the fray. I am saddened that age has overtaken me but in my heart rejoice for I feel that I could still make a difference and bring some of these brave warriors home. I pray I never lose my desire to defend my God and my country! The entire week was blessed of God as there were scores and scores of decisions with six dear souls saved on Wednesday evening. God met with us in the meetings. What a wonderful spirit in the church, both Bill and I agreed that we cannot remember when we were cared for any better. The pastor, his staff and people were so very kind. Thank the lord for meetings like this. -CC God and Country Day at Liberty Baptist Church, Indianapolis, pastured by Mike Messer. Evangelist Bill Behrens and I are here for four days of preaching. Two were saved this morning, one man and an eighteen year old girl. What a joy it was to see the altar full tonight when Bill preached. More to come on this meeting. -CC Preached at Fundamental Baptist Church in Clinton, MD for Pastor Mike Creed. Saturday evening I preached a wild game supper where one dear man was saved that they had been praying for for a very long time. Sunday was a salute to veterans. Pastor and his staff paid tribute to all veterans by presenting them with a special plaque and recognizing their service and awards presents to them by a grateful nation. This is a wonderful church of perhaps five or six hundred folks. A good number (ten or twelve) were saved on Sunday morning. It was a real blessing to be with these good people. Pastor Rick Dove, Pastor Creed's associate certainly had everything lined up and moving correctly. -CC Great meeting at Heritage Park Baptist Church, Frederick, MD. (30-31 October) where pastor Richard Miller is pastor. We had a wild game supper and God saved four men (one father and his son). The Lord' s day was a wonderful day with the church almost full in the morning and a good crowd in the evening. Many good decisions were made for godly living. What a great job Pastor Miller is doing with this church which has been in existence now for close to three years. -CC Preached the Wednesday evening service for Pastor Allen Steward, West Florida Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 27th. A young teen age girl was saved who had been riding the bus to church for eight years. Thank God for faithful workers. They need a bus driver. Pray with me for one. -CC What wonderful Spirit filled meetings we have enjoyed this week with the folks of Community Baptist Church of Ayden, NC pastored by Stan Windgard. Many know Stan's brother Bill, the both of them are fine men of God with impeccable reputations. I believe that the good results of these meetings can only be attributed to the fervent prayers of the church for revival for weeks prior to the start of the meeting this week. God has showered us with his presence. The night before last a dear grandmother ask Stan and I if we would attempt to lead her grandson to the Lord. We went to the home yesterday and Thomas, the thirty-four year old grandson, was saved to the uttermost. His wife was saved but not serving God. They both will be in church tonight. How very very good our God is. -CC God did a marvelous thing Friday evening. He saved the nineteen year old husband of the eighteen year old girl saved on Monday evening. Matt accepted the Lord Friday evening and what a joy it was to see them standing together at the altar and both now on their way to heaven. The ten year old boy whose mother did not want him to come out of the pew because she believed him to be already saved, said to me Friday evening..........."preacher, I sure am glad that I got saved." Kenny, the man saved also on Monday night was back every night and his wife and girls said..........."our daddy is a changed man" and the wife said "he is not the same." thank the Lord for these victories in this closing day of grace. -CC (Posted 10/06/04) Community Baptist Church of Bladensboro, NC. Sunday was homecoming and what a day we had. Old fashioned cooking and old fashioned preaching. Good crowd both morning and evening. One man made sure of his salvation and got victory over anger and bitterness; numerous decisions on the altar. Monday night was special as one man (the father of three girls) was saved and an eighteen year old young woman was saved and many decisions on the altar. Tuesday a ten year old boy was saved whose mother attempted to stop him but released him after he told her "Mother I am not saved." Once again many good decisions on the altar. This is a good church with a good spirit and great pastor. Pastor Ohlman has been here for ten years and God has certainly used him during this time. -CC Three more saved on the Lord’s Day (09/26/04). Two in the morning service and then the husband of an older lady. The husband had been in the hospital for some time and had been being prayed for "for years." God was so good allowing us to lead him to the Lord -- and all in front of his lost adult son. The service ended with all coming forward for a dedicatory prayer for greater service and support of the local church and it's pastor. -CC (Updated 09/25/04) A dear forty year old lady was saved Thursday evening. God has blessed this meeting as the crowds have been good, visitors each night and most of all the pastor is ecstatic about the response by his people. Many have made solid decisions for living for God in the future and for getting off their lee's and helping to move the church forward. The Lord is good! -CC (Posted 09/21/04) Three saved on the Lord’s Day with great conviction falling on the congregation as the Lord met with us in a most wonderful way. Pastor is thrilled about what the Lord is doing as is this preacher. Calvary Baptist is in South Windsor, CT. (Hartford) the church is undergoing a beautiful addition which when finished will be greatly used of God and God's people. The church is pastored by Dave Bergen who has been here for ten years and is doing a marvelous job. He has a wonderful family, a dear sweet wife and six precious children. -CC How the Lord blessed. We had two more saved Friday evening and a teenage girl that revealed to everyone that she was saved on Sunday. This brings to ten the total saved for the week and scores of decisions for changed lives and Godly living. I certainly do appreciate your prayers. -CC (Posted 09/09/04) Pastor Alan Gardner has been the pastor (of Bible Baptist Church in Leola, PA.) for about four years and is doing a wonderful job. The church is full of good friendly folks with a desire to serve the Lord. God really blessed Sunday as we had six visitors (five teenagers) saved Sunday morning and one older man. Then Sunday evening God saved another teenage girl who had been brought by a friend. All in all seven folks were saved. The Lord has been speaking to hearts as the altar has been full each service. Visitors from other churches have been present each night which as we all know always helps the meeting. Pray with us for god to move and hearts to be changed for his service. -CC Two precious souls were saved yesterday at the Bright Light Baptist Church in Concord, NC where Pastor Ronnie Simpson is pastor. What a great day we had as the dear folks had been praying for this man for many years and God saved him yesterday. This was not my preaching but the effectual fervent prayers of a body of believers who prayed without ceasing. One dear older lady was also saved. When in Concord be sure to visit this fine church and wonderful pastor. -CC (Posted 08/24/04)
(Posted 08/17/04) Thank the Lord for the meetings recently concluded at Calvary Baptist Church, New Bern, NC where Pastor Bill Wingard has been the pastor for over thirty years. God moved in the meetings with one, perhaps two, dear souls being saved. The real results of the meetings however was in the decisions made by Pastor Wingard's good people and those visiting. Pastor Wingard is blessed with a wonderful staff of loyal Godly men and women. It has always been a pleasure to preach for the members of Calvary and their friends. The meetings were blessed with an unusual number of local pastors and their people. What a blessing they were to the overall spirit and outcome of the meetings. -CC (Updated with Pictures 08/16/04) Each year I preach at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Wilson, NC on the Sunday prior to the beginning of our camp meetings at Trinity Baptist Church also of Wilson.
Six precious souls were saved yesterday (August 1) and souls I might add that the church had been praying for. How good our God is. -CC (Posted 08/02/04)
The summer revival with Valley Baptist Church in Edinburg, VA. pastored by Dr. Jim Bailey was concluded on Friday evening (July 30th). The altar was full of dear folks with a revived desire to serve the Lord. Two people were saved during the week and many decisions for godly living and a more faithful service to the church. Visitors abounded during the week with several of them coming from a prayer breakfast that pastor asked me to speak at.
Thank you Pastor Bailey and Valley Baptist! -CC (Posted 07/17/04) "What a wonderful week of meetings we have enjoyed here at Lifegate Baptist Church. We had visitors just about every night, the response on the altar was very good, folks testified to changes of heart and living due to the preaching of the Word of God. Friday nights closing was especially moving as the church fellowshipped together with a warmth that was obvious to all. One member remarked that "he had not seen this in that fashion for a very long time." prayerfully this fruit will remain and Pastor Squires ministry strengthened for the future. Personally I cannot "ever" remember in my almost twenty years on the sawdust trail of a pastor and his people treating me any more graciously. I appreciate this so very much as the week has not only been a pleasure spiritually but the amenities provides this preacher have seldom been enjoyed elsewhere. Thank you Pastor Squires and members of Lifegate." -CC (Posted 07/05/04) The Fourth of July services at Franklin Road Baptist Church were just simply wonderful. Pastor Mike Norris and his church and staff organized a very moving ceremony that spoke to the hearts of all present. The salute to the veterans, their recognition and voiced appreciation along with the stirring music package was something that few will ever forget. America was lifted up but the precious lord even more. Fourteen dear souls were saved, one a man recently returned from Iraq. God was so very good to us. -CC (Posted 06/29/04) One of the ladies saved on Sunday morning brought her mother with her to the Sunday evening service and the Lord saved her mother. God is so very good. The altar was full to overflowing last evening as Brother Behrens preached on "A Broken Heart/Hell" and I preached on "Paying the Fare"! What a wonderful outpouring of God's Spirit. -CC (Posted 06/27/04) The “Salute to America” meetings began with a marvelous day here at Fundamental Baptist Church in Escondido, California. Evangelist Bill Behrens and I were here three years ago on the Tuesday that the terrorists hit the World Trade Center. We had four saved this morning. This brings to one hundred and thirty-five saved so far this year. We have three more days to go. -CC (Posted 06/21/04)
Pastor Freeman and his folks were a very real blessing. The music, both specials and congregationals were greatly used of the Lord and set the heart up for the preaching of God's word each service. What a blessing to be in a church that never uses "canned music." Everyone was so very kind, I look forward to a return meeting in the future. -CC [AFA] (Posted 06/21/04) June 7, 2004 The following tribute is written in appreciation for the life and ministry of Doctor Allen P. Dickerson: (50th Anniversary as Pastor)
Seldom has fundamentalism had such a wonderful, godly, warm and caring man as Pastor Allen Dickerson; Seldom have we seen a man not given to change; Seldom has America had a man that for a life time kept his life unspotted from our society; Seldom has a congregation had such a loving, faithful, concerned and exceptional bible expositor as Pastor Allen Dickerson; Seldom have so many been provided so much from one man during his long and successful ministry as pastor of the Maranatha Baptist Church; Seldom have we, the friends of Allen Dickerson, had such a friend and compatriot as this man; Seldom has one man given so much to the cause of missions both here in America and on the foreign field; Seldom has a man given his wife the love, affection, respect and admiration that Allen Dickerson has given dear Ruby; Seldom has a man been such a joy to so many; Seldom does a county such as Cecil County have a man who pastored so many who were not members of his church for when it came time to die they wanted this man to preach their funerals for they had listened to him on WOEL-FM for many many years. When America looses Dr. Allen P. Dickerson, it will loose a great American patriot, a statesman, a friend, a mentor to many, a confidant and helper to those hurting, a preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ par excellence, one of the best soul winners to have ever graced the pulpit of a baptist church and one of the best friends that Jesus Christ ever had here on earth.
(Posted 06/06/04) The God and country service at Faith Baptist Church in Laurens, SC pastored by Pastor Steve Mays was a tremendous success with many decisions both morning and afternoon. In addition to the good members of Faith Baptist there were approximately forty elected officials present with most of them staying for the wonderful dinner on the grounds. Old glory was saluted, the sodomites discredited, abortion shamed, American bragged on, the Normandy invasion remembered and of course our great statesman President Ronald Reagan saluted. All of this was so very much enjoyed by everyone and no one present would disagree that our dear Lord and his work on Calvary was the best remembered battle every fought. Thank God for this victory! -CC (Posted 05/25/04) "First spring revival at Filipino Independence Baptist Church of Norfolk, Virginia was blessed of God. The attendance grew for the three days of meetings, Friday through Sunday. One dear man was saved and literally hundreds of decisions for change and Godly living. One man surrendered to preach the gospel and one family joined the church. Pastor Jose Ramirez was thrilled. To our blessed Lord all the glory goes." -CC The meetings at Page Valley Baptist Church were concluded on Friday evening. A great week of meetings, warm Virginia folks, beautiful country, great church and church building. All so very well kept and situated in the green veldt of the Shenandoah valley. We had one lady saved but many good decisions. Pastor Mallory was pleased, so this evangelist is pleased. -CC ..."One more dear soul added to God's
kingdom tonight. A visitor, invited by pastor's wife, was saved tonight.
God was so very present in the meeting. Prayers are being answered. Praise
the Lord." -CC Sunday May 9, is Mother's Day. I will be preaching on "The Testimony of a Godly Mother" at the Page Valley Baptist Church, in Luray, Virginia. Pastor Don Mallory is the pastor. Pastor Mallory, a former missionary to Haiti, is a warm, personable pastor with a passion for souls and Godly living. Please pray for this meeting which will run from Sunday through Friday. We expect God's blessings, "Matthew 21:22. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." -CC "The meetings with North Salem Baptist Church Pastored by Tim Boyd concluded last evening with Pastor Boyd baptizing one of his sons who was saved during the meeting; another son being saved last night and the eighteen year old young woman indicating to pastor last night that she wanted to be baptized. Many good and hopefully sincere decisions made during the week. Prayerfully this will be fruit that remains. Four dear souls saved and much altar work during the week. Thank the Lord for his leadership and kindness toward us all. I do appreciate your prayers for this ministry. This brings to one hundred and twenty-nine the souls that the dear Lord has saved so far this year." -CC
